Anonymous Asked: If I might ask, where did you get your Aranea glasses? The seem spot on!

I’m afraid the exact item I bought on eBay has ended ): but I did find these two sellers who have the exact same glasses I bought- sadly, they are a bit more expensive than the ones I purchased! I got mine for about 12 dollar, I think.

Anonymous Asked: As a fellow Australian aspiring to cosplay trolls, I'd like to ask what grey makeup and sealer you use? (I think I saw you guys at Armageddon - you were all absolutely FANTASTIC!)

Thank you so much!

And that’s a fantastic question!! My friends and I all use “Snazaroo” light grey makeup, because it is water based meaning it is really easy to wash off, and it looks GREAT in photos. A lot of cosplayers use Snazaroo, and another popular paint is Ben Nye, which is cream based meaning it is much harder to wash off, and thicker. It also looks great in photos, but I prefer Snazaroo because it’s lighter and during the con it is more breathable. It is also cheaper than Ben Nye, about 15 dollars at lincraft and 10 online.

Snazaroo is much better for sensitive skin, and if you get Ben Nye please consider that you’ll have to mix white and dark grey together to achieve the right colour. Snazaroo already has the perfect colour.

As for sealer, since I am generally on a budget (as a lot of cosplayers are ;u;) my friends and I always use hairspray! It works just as well as sealer- once you’ve finished your makeup, close your eyes and spray a light layer over your face and everywhere that has paint. If you’d like to buy actual sealer, I believe Ben Nye has a colourless sealer that is about $30 dollars for a container.

Also, only use the Snazaroo if you’re doing it for troll makeup- if you’re using other colours, the quality is not so good. So please don’t use the white Snazaroo if you’re planning to do Rainbow Drinker Kanaya or Gamzee- it is really hard to apply and looks pretty bad, I know from experience ):

One last thing- apply Snazaroo with a very thin layer! Add a little bit of water to a sponge and dab on the paint, and use it very lightly on your skin for the best results.

Sorry for the long reply!

Good luck with your cosplay and I hope I’ve been helpful!

oswinitis Asked: hi there, i was wondering if you had a pattern for the shirt for the god-tier vriska outfit that you did for your friend?

I did make my own pattern for that shirt- however there are  a lot of t-shirt patterns available online so I thought I’d show you this one my adepimpe which is very clear.

This is a pattern for a maid / witch shirt, but if you simply adjust the patterns to end at the blue lines of drawn in, you’ll be all set. The length from the top of your shoulder to how long you want the sleeve should be from the top of the curved but (on the sleeve pattern) to the blue line. Good luck!

P.S for the split up the side, I just made the shirt pretty long and didn’t sew up part of the way on the side- then hemmed.

tuna-empress Asked: i was wondering what wig you used for your aranea cosplay? it looks really nice, and i'm sorta planning to cosplay her.

Hello! Sorry if this reply has taken a while, I’ve been away

I’m afraid the wig I used has been removed ):

However here are three wigs that I think would be perfectly suited to Aranea from the same seller (who I highly recommend!)
